During June 4-5, a captivating single-molecule workshop was given at the headquarters of LUMICKS in Amsterdam. Throughout the workshop, the participants were introduced to our second-generation (G2 line) apparatus and got the chance to perform multiple investigations on them.
We started off with the C-trap™, our optical tweezers-fluorescence microscope, and performed experiments to investigate DNA mechanics and DNA-protein interactions. Together with our application scientists, the workshop participants captured single DNA strands, followed by effectuating several structural transitions upon them while visualising them in real-time. Afterwards, they got to discover the power of sound by using state-of-the-art AFS™ technology and investigated the molecular responses of DNA to force transitions in both high-throughput and at the single-molecule level.
