Within our offices (Amsterdam and Boston, US) we have several C-Trap systems to show the world the possibilities in Dynamic SingleMolecule Experiments. As an Application Scientist at LUMICKS Experience Center, you will become an experimental expert of the C-Trap systems. Your uniquely acquired hands-on experience on the system and creative problem-solving skills will enable you to perform a wide range of experiments for current and future customers.

In addition, with your excellent communication skills and your ability to simplify complex ideas, you will perform high-impact live demonstrations for future customers and C-Trap trainings for a broad range of audience. You will also occasionally contribute to R&D projects and customer support issues where your experience and skills will make a difference. In brief, you will become the go-to person for anything that involves the usage of the C-Traps.

What are the requirements and skills needed?

  • Diploma, Master or PhD in Life Sciences/Physics/Engineering  
  • 0-1 year hands-on experience in a wet lab 
  • Familiar with (or interested in) data analysis and programming in Matlab, Python or equivalent is a plus 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills  
  • Strong problem-solving skills 

What about my skills & competencies?

  • Conduct experiments on the C-Trap 
  • Support customers/colleagues with their C-Trap experiments 
  • Develop and optimize experimental protocols, workflows and processes 
  • Maintain C-Traps and related equipment/consumables   
  • Contribute to R&D and marketing projects 
  • Perform demonstrations on the C-Trap 
  • Perform C-Trap trainings to a broad range of audience 
  • Occasional travel for performing demos or customer trainings at the customer sites (mainly US) & Boston office, 10-15%
